IF YOU THINK OUR RULES AND ATTITUDE TO FISH CARE ARE UNNECESSARY THEN ECHO POOL IS NOT THE FISHERY FOR YOU!

At Echo Pool nothing is more important to us than the welfare of our fish. It is for this reason that we strictly control certain aspects of the fishing and have a very specific way of handling the fish once caught.

Our carp are fished for and caught every week from the beginning of April until the end of October. Most fish will be caught several times throughout the season, if certain tackle and bad handling practices are allowed these fish will become more and more damaged as the season progresses.

Our rules on tackle and bait have been made after careful consideration and years of experience as an angler of all disciplines. A lot of tackle on the market these days is designed to catch the angler and its ability to catch fish is secondary often to the detriment of the sport.

None of our rules will hinder your chances of catching, in fact most will actually help.

As long as you fish sensibly there are no dangers in our lake so the fish can be played gently on lighter tackle than you’d think. On our lake heavy tactic’s and tackle result in hook pulls, damaged fish and unhappy anglers.

Once caught we don’t allow our fish to be removed from the water, unhooking, weighing and photos are all to be carried out in the lake, this is a very simply process and massively reduces the chance of damage or even death.

Note on bait rules.

Because of the size of our lake and the quality of our fish we need to strictly monitor what bait is used. We have spent a lot of time and money feeding our fish the best quality bait/food available and we don’t want inferior products contaminating our water, upsetting our fish and potentially ruining our hard work.

The catch reports and weight gains prove how good our bait products are.

You may bring your own boilies but this must be discussed with us first. We only allow top quality freezer baits from a reputable company. We do not allow shelf life, we also don’t allow homemade bait as there is no way we can be sure of its ingredients.

Before you start fishing I will come and check all your rigs and may at any time during your stay ask you to reel in for the same reason.

Rules may change at any time without prior notice especially regarding new products.

Personal point…

Most of our customers are excellent, but why are there always some with a shear lack of respect who do things which ruin it everyone else. Our rules are listed above very clearly; if you don’t agree with them don’t come here.

It’s very hard being a fishery owner and I truly understand how some have got reputations for having a bad attitude, sometimes you really do lose faith in the human race.

If you’re a disrespectful idiot please don’t book Echo pool. Tasha and I are really nice people and will do everything we can to ensure you have a great holiday, please don’t take advantage of us..........

Because we have a small lake lost tackle generally turns up the following week and it’s very easy to identify. A couple of rigs which have been found were disgusting, blatant death rigs, if I’d caught the anglers using them I wouldn’t have been accountable for my actions.
